MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Elvis fans are celebrating what would have been The King's 78th birthday with a new exhibit at Graceland.

Officials at Graceland say if Elvis had kept a Hawaiian scrapbook, there are several items that would be inside. Those are all a part of a new exhibit featuring Elvis' Hawaiian years.

Hawaii was considered one of The King's favorite places.

Now, his favorite place is featured in a new exhibit celebrating the 40th anniversary of Elvis' "Aloha from Hawaii " concert.

"It's the first broadcast that was seen via satellite worldwide. It was watched by over a billion people at the time," Graceland Director of Archives Angie Marchese.

In addition to never before seen Hawaiian home movies, visitors can also see Elvis' gold jacket he wore during his first Hawaiian concert in 1957.

Graceland officials say it gives fans a chance to get personal with some of Elvis' items from one of his favorite places.

"He filmed three movies there, performed over seven shows," said Marchese. "The big thing was it was a place for him to work, relax, take his family, vacation there."

The exhibit " Greetings from Hawaii " opens at Graceland on Tuesday. It will be open to visitors for two years.
