While many of us are looking to slim down in 2013, one coast author is encouraging folks here on the coast to open a book and exercise their imagination.

Writer Lenny Emmanual came on our 4 O'clock show to talk about his plan to get South Mississippi fired up about reading.

    When Scott Hawkins crossed the Gulf Coast Marathon finish line, his wife was waiting for him wearing a Boston Red Sox shirt. His finish time qualified him for the Boston Marathon. But two days later, everything changed.
