    Some Jackson County supervisors don't want to see people carrying guns in parks and other public areas despite a new gun law in the state. As WLOX has reported, starting July 1st Mississippians will be able to openly carry a gun and other weapons with or without a permit.   Some Jackson county leaders want to create a local ordinance to keep weapons in check.
AMELIA, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators in Amelia are looking for two men in connection with a shooting just before the start of the new year.

Deputies were called to the 100 block of Westside Park Lane just after midnight Tuesday and found the victim with two gunshot wounds to the chest.

According to reports, two masked men drove up to the victim in an older model Chevy pickup that was black in front and green in the rear.  One of the men, armed with a gun, got out and was confronted by the victim, then shot the victim.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
