GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

City leaders in Gonzales officially took office Wednesday morning.

They gathered in front of friends and family at city hall.  

The new five-member council was sworn-in first.

Then, long-time Mayor Barney Arceneaux took the oath.

After that, second-term Police Chief Sherman Jackson was sworn-in.
