A Tylertown man is charged with animal cruelty in connection to that suspected puppy mill in Walthall County. Sheriff's officials say James Thornhill, 72, turned himself in Tuesday and was released on his own recognizance. Meanwhile, 102 of the animals rescued Monday are now getting a lot of TLC at the Humane Society of South Mississippi.More >>

He once shot Mississippi State University to the Final Four, but now he's gaining attention for another kind of shooting. Gulfport police have issued an active arrest warrant on Thursday for 38-year-old Marcus Bullard, for the charge of drive by shooting.
Police Chief Alan Weatherford said on Wednesday, Bullard was in a moving vehicle when he fired several gunshots at a victim. No one was hit by any of the shots and Bullard reportedly fled the scene.
Bullard, who is 38-years-old, played basketball in the 1990s for Long Beach High School and Mississippi State University.
