HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

One man is in jail and another is wanted on drug charges after a stop at a drivers license checkpoint.

Sheriff's deputies say Stanley Jordan, 22, and Damon Gibson, 21, were stopped at the corner of North 11th St. and Forest Lane.  Jordan was unable to produce a drivers license or identification, Gibson gave deputies his Louisiana Identification card.

While deputies were checking Gibson's card, Jordan allegedly put the car in reverse and backed down Forest Lane at a high rate of speed before losing control of the car and running into the ditch after 120 yards.  Both men then took off running.

Gibson was caught a short time later.  Investigators say he had bags with marijuana and crack on him when arrested.

According to reports, seven small plastic bags of marijuana were found in the car.

Gibson has been charged with possession with intent to distribute CDS I, possession with intent to distribute CDS II and resisting arrest.

Authorities are still looking for Jordan for possession with intent to distribute CDS II and resisting arrest by flight.
