BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU football teamed up with Alberton's for the annual "Touchdown for Turkeys."

"This is one of the things we love to do," said defensive end Keke Mingo. "We understand there's people in this community that aren't as fortunate as other people and they need a helping hand and we're fortunate to be able to help."

Albertsons donated 258 turkeys to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Mingo, an All-American, helped load them.

The turkeys are headed to locations around the 11-parish area the food bank serves.

The 258 turkeys represent one bird for every point the team scored during the regular season.
