BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Weather in the 70's didn't keep students at Progress Head Start program from having a white Christmas celebration.
Exxon and LPB sponsored the event for the school's 150 students. Exxon volunteers showed the kids how to make snow and LPB donated books to the school's library. Santa and Elmo even made a guest appearance.
"We come out, especially around the holidays to read holiday stories...Santa Claus stories, and really have a fun time today. But we're here throughout the year, reading to the kids, doing science experiments," said Angela Zeringue with Exxon.
Zeringue says their partnership with LPB and Progress Head Start program is a great way to have fun with these kids, but more importantly, a way to prepare these kids for their future.
