BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The man accused of killing a driver in July has been arrested again on DWI charges. Matthew Harding's bond was revoked Wednesday on a vehicular homicide charge and this new DWI charge has a $100,000 bond.
Harding bonded out and Sunday was arrested again that night at the Zachary Walmart around 11 p.m. according to an affidavit of probable cause. He was arrested after his truck crashed into a Plymouth Neon in the Walmart parking lot.
Police had to wake Harding after the crash. The affidavit says Harding told police he had been drinking but he didn't remember where he had been prior to passing out in his truck.
Harding's bond was set at $100,000 which his parents posted a property bond and he was released. Judge Erwin revoked that bond on Wednesday.
"This case is the poster child for a state-wide DWI data base," says East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore. "We've called all over the Baton Rouge area and cannot find out the disposition of any of his former arrests, except for one not guilty case." Moore says the investigation is on-going.
