The Tangipahoa Parish Sheri's Office needs the public's help in solving an unsolved death that happened in November at Alvarez Nursery in Hammond, LA.
Deputies say 63-year-old Mary Alvarez was found with a single gunshot wound to the head on November 14, 2012. Details surrounding her death are still unclear.
Her husband, Vic Alvarez, found his wife lying on the floor bleeding from her head. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office immediately secured the scene after the shooting and began investigating. The scene was processed for several hours, evidence was collected and the scene was thoroughly photographed.
Sheriff Edwards is asking anyone who may have information regarding the events which occurred that afternoon to please contact TPSO Detective Dale Athmann at 985-634-9181.
Sheriff Edwards is offering a $2,500.00 reward for any information leading to the discovery of the events leading up to Mrs. Alvarez's death.
