WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -
A Waveland teen will be charged as an adult in first degree murder and car jacking, according to Waveland Police Chief Kenny Hurt.
Waveland police assisted New Orleans police in the arrest of 17-year-old Jaroid Tra'von Washington on Tuesday.
The suspect is believed to be linked to an abandoned dark blue Honda Accord found on Camellia Street in Waveland on November 27.
That car's license plate number reportedly matched a vehicle sought by New Orleans police.
Media reports in New Orleans said a 2007 Honda Accord with the same license plate number belonged to 27-year-old Fernando Eyzaguirre who was found shot to death.
Washington was booked through Waveland police department and is being held at the Hancock County jail pending extradition to Louisiana.
Hurt said other arrests are expected, but none are expected to be from Waveland.
