Veteran team forms a third franchise system
Charlotte, North Carolina
December 10, 2012 (PRWEB) December 12, 2012 -- Tom Fenig, founder of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives and co-founder of Mosquito Squad, has teamed up with his former IT /Marketing Director Jim Connelly, and Tyler Kirk of Labor Panes of Charlotte, North Carolina to form Labor Panes Franchising.
Labor Panes was founded by Kirk in 2005 and provides a variety of home services including window and house washing, dryer vent cleaning, deck cleaning and restoration to name a few. According to Kirk, "I knew from the start, Labor Panes would be a winning, and a recession proof business. Our unique business process helped us thrive when so many of my competitors were closing their doors. I just needed help franchising the business."
Kirk earned his MPA in 2000 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After several years working in the non-profit sector following graduation, he was unable to find employment. The sudden loss of his hearing was an additional challenge that made his employment search difficult. Kirk says it best: "Losing about 95% of my hearing made me even more focused on being successful. I did not really dwell on my hearing disability...it simply was the hand I was dealt. And my hearing challenges are minor compared to what others struggle with. Not finding a job was the best thing to happen to me because I created my own!”
According to Kirk, this category has great short and long term growth potential.
· People are staying in their homes longer; therefore maintenance needs will increase.
· Dual income households are increasing so these busy homeowners are more likely to choose professional services.
· Homeowners who have delayed home services are running out of time. They either incur some cost now or more costs later for repair or replacement.
· For those trying to sell their home, a clean and well maintained home sells faster.
Fenig said, "It is interesting how things turn out. When I sold the other two home service franchise systems, the last thing I thought I would do is to be involved in yet another one. With the experience and skills of partners Kirk and Connelly, I am confident we have a well qualified team to help our franchisees become successful. And the timing could not be better."
