ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
In Ascension Parish, some officials report a tornado caused light to severe damage to residences and businesses in the Black Bayou Road area between Airline Highway and Highway 44.
Ascension Parish Director of Homeland Security Ricky Webber says a tornado has not been confirmed. They believe it may have been straight line winds.
The 7th District Fire Department received heavy damage to the front of the building where glass and walls were destroyed.
Other reports say most of the damage to homes in the Black Bayou area is cosmetic.
No reports of injuries at this time. Other damage appears moderate at this time. This information comes from the Ascension Parish Facebook page.
