A state inmate who escaped while doing trustee work in Hattiesburg late last month is back in custody tonight, thanks to a tip to Crimestoppers.

Crimestoppers officials say Marcus Andrew Walker was caught at the Scottish Inn in Hattiesburg about 2:30 p.m. Saturday by Mississippi Department of Corrections officials.

He was taken back to the Forrest County Regional Jail.

Walker had last been seen on Nov. 26 washing sheriff's department cars at the Forrest County Service Center near downtown Hattiesburg.
