GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

The Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport made Christmas miracles come true for nine families Saturday.

Children were invited to a private party at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, where they took pictures with Santa, made crafts, enjoyed holiday treats, and unwrapped gifts.

The 19 children from Harrison County who attended were so excited when they saw their gifts: scooters, guitars, clothes, games, and toys will keep them busy through the holidays.

This was the first year the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport hosted the party, but organizer Brandy Dyess said she hopes to make Looking for a Christmas Miracle an annual event, to add to the many projects the ladies auxiliary holds each year to serve the children of Harrison County.
