MS abortion clinic fights to stay open

(WMC-TV) – It is the only abortion clinic left in Mississippi – and it is fighting to stay open.

Attorneys are again asking a federal judge to block a state law that could close the facility.

A state law that took effect in July requires doctors at clinics have admitting privileges to a local hospital.

Attorneys say despite repeated attempts, Jackson Women's Health Organization has been unable to obtain privileges for most of its physicians.

A judge allowed the law to take effect to see whether the clinic could meet the requirements.
