Brooks County returns to Calhoun

QUITMAN, GA (WALB) -

The top two ranked teams in AA are ready to meet in the state quarterfinals when #2 Brooks County plays at #1 Calhoun Friday night.

Some believe the winner of this game will win the AA state championship in two weeks.

Calhoun has definitely been a big road block in the Trojans state championship plans.

Calhoun beat Brooks in the second round last year and rallied to win in the state semifinals six years ago.

The Trojans believe their Hammer philosophy will be to their advantage Friday night.

"Bringing the hammer is just an inner strength. It is just like swinging a sledgehammer out on the railroad or something like that. It is just sheer power, strength and quickness. That is what be believe in. That is what we do as a football team. We bring it", said head coach Maurice Freeman.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday in Calhoun.
