BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Two arrests have been made in a shooting that left one man dead on November
6, 2012 in the 3100 block of Wyandotte Street.
The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. Two men were shot and were taken
to the hospital. One of the victims, 34-year-old Derrick Marioneaux, died and
the other had moderate injuries, according to Baton Rouge police. The man with
moderate injuries was suspected to be one of the men trying to shoot
Marioneaux.
Baton Rouge Police say the man injured, now identified as 21-year-old Juan
Hebert, was accidentally shot by one of the other shooters. When he was
released from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with first degree
murder.
A second shooter, a 14-year-old boy, was also arrested for the shooting
death of Marioneaux.
Police have also issued an arrest warrant for a third shooter, 20-year-old
Benjamin Bailey, for his involvement in the shooting.
According to police, detectives discovered that multiple suspects forced
their way into the victim's home before shooting him.
