TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

A Tangipahoa Parish man is behind bars after being accused of breaking into homes and trying to burglarize them.

Norman Cutrer, 50, of Albany, LA was arrested around 4 p.m. Monday after witnesses say they saw Cutrer breaking into several residences on Vitrano Road. When deputies arrived, they detained Cutrer pending an investigation.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says Cutrer went through the area, jumping fences, beating on doors and eventually gained access into several homes.

Cutrer was arrested and charged with theft, two counts of criminal trespass and attempted burglary.
