It's a voyage that helps introduce tourists to those small waterfront towns that they may not ordinarily think to visit. A cruise ship docked in Biloxi on Wednesday night. Then on Thursday, passengers visited several attractions including the Biloxi lighthouse and the visitors center. The Grande Caribe set sail from New Orleans and will continue on until it reaches St. Petersburg. Crew members said it's the stops along the way that makes these small cruises stand out.
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The memories of October 23rd are still hard to put into words for Angela Barker.

"I don't think we're ever going to know why it happened or why anything like this ever happens," said Barker.

Barker got the call that her best friend Paula Agnew Reynolds had been attacked by her own husband Jeffrey Reynolds, leaving her clinging to life and her unborn baby dead.

"Every single day it's just getting through to the next day," added Barker.

Each day has brought countless hours of treatment for Paula as she continues to recover from her injuries in a local hospital.

"She's still going to have to go through a lot of surgeries before she can come home and with every surgery there's risk. There's risk of infection and I'm sure that's why they can't give us a time frame," said Barker.

Barker looks back at pictures of brighter times and continues to visit Paula daily. She along with other friends, are doing all they can to help ease Paula's pain and the financial burden that comes with 24 hour care.

"She's pretty much starting over at this point so she's going to need a lot of things and obviously she won't be able to work right away so she's going to need help financially for her and her son," added Barker.

Some of that help will come from the Paula Agnew Reynolds Give Back from Chili's event on Monday.  The event, detailed on Facebook outlines how 10 percent of customers' tabs at area Chili's will go to support Paula's fund. A gesture that Barker says cannot compare to the joy Paula gives them with each breath.

"To hear her voice, that's what keeps me going," Barker said.
