Gulfport police investigate around 30 gunshots through windows

    Some Jackson County supervisors don't want to see people carrying guns in parks and other public areas despite a new gun law in the state. As WLOX has reported, starting July 1st Mississippians will be able to openly carry a gun and other weapons with or without a permit.   Some Jackson county leaders want to create a local ordinance to keep weapons in check.
GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Several Gulfport residents woke up Sunday morning to find gunshots through their car windows.

Gulfport police tell WLOX News they believe someone shot out more than 30 vehicles with a pellet gun.

Investigators say it happened all over Gulfport, near the downtown area 19 vehicles have been reported damaged and in the Orange Grove area 13 reports have been filed.

Police officers say vehicles were hit in several communities including Gaston Point, North Bel-Aire and Olivet Subdivision.
