Black Elk Energy stops search for missing worker

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The owner of an offshore oil rig is suspending the search for a missing worker.

According to a press release from Black Elk Energy, the search covered more than 1,400 square miles of the Gulf of Mexico.

The decision comes after more than 100 hours of searching.

The body of one missing worker was found by search crews over the weekend.
