JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -
Authorities are still looking for the suspect involved in a shooting and robbery early Friday evening in Jacksonville.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Austin Bank drive through location at the corner of South Bolton and West Commerce Streets.
Jacksonville Police believe they are looking for a black male in his mid-20s who was wearing a red hoodie and has close cut hair.
They believe he shot 66-year old Louise Barnett, the owner of Jacksonville's Razorback Grocery Store, in the hand and shoulder while she was sitting in her car waiting to make a deposit - and family members say this is the second robbery she's been involved in in just as many weeks.
Barnett was flown to ETMC in Tyler, where she is in fair condition Friday night.
Authorities say she was waiting in the commercial line of the bank around 5:30 p.m. when she was approached by the suspect. He ran up to her passenger window and demanded she open the door or window to give him a money bag.
Police say the suspect only approached her vehicle
"He beat on the window with an unknown object, then produced a firearm and fired one round - at least one round - into the vehicle," said Sergeant Jason Price of the Jacksonville Police Department. "The bullet struck the business owner."
Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot to the north, toward Bonner Street.
They said that Mrs. Barnett ran from her car to chase him down before realizing she'd been shot.
Family members told us that Mrs. Barnett was robbed two weeks ago today at her store, and that tonight's events concern them greatly.
Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts are asked to call Jacksonville Police or Crimestoppers.
