It's a voyage that helps introduce tourists to those small waterfront towns that they may not ordinarily think to visit. A cruise ship docked in Biloxi on Wednesday night. Then on Thursday, passengers visited several attractions including the Biloxi lighthouse and the visitors center. The Grande Caribe set sail from New Orleans and will continue on until it reaches St. Petersburg. Crew members said it's the stops along the way that makes these small cruises stand out.

More music, more action, even sing alongs to allow for audience participation, will add new zip to the traditional Tree Lighting at The Jefferson Hotel, which will take place on Monday, November 26, at the hotel, 101 West Franklin Street.

The Jefferson is revamping its holiday program to enhance its appeal to children.

Music familiar to children of all ages will be performed throughout the entire program, and action will be disbursed throughout the hotel's Rotunda, not limited to the staircase.

Some things will remain the same, of course - there will be the parade down the Grand Staircase, the lighting of the huge Christmas tree and a reception for guests.

Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with entertainment provided by local musicians.

The program will begin promptly at 6.00 p.m, and will end with the arrival of the Legendary Santa and the lighting of the tree. It is free and open to the public.
