Emergency crews responded to a school bus accident north of Long Beach Friday afternoon. The call came in about 3:45pm that a school bus had run off Freddie Frank Road.
Initial reports were the bus had overturned, but Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara told WLOX News the driver "got a little too close to the shoulder and sunk in the mud. The bus did not overturn."
Officials said the driver was backing up when the bus slipped on some wet grass and fell into a ditch. Another school bus had to pull the initial one out of the ditch.
The sheriff said approximately ten students were on board. No one was hurt.
