Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says voter turnout is higher than expected across the state.
Hosemann says early numbers from absentee ballots were low, but since the polls opened, folks have been forming lines.
Out of 1,800 precincts in the state, so far, there's only been twelve reported problems to Hosemann's office, which he says have been corrected.
Hosemann says calls are steady at his office with folks trying to find their precinct.
"A lot of people are showing up to vote," said Hosemann. "We have long lines throughout the state of Mississippi and I'm very pleased with that. We were concerned because our absentee ballot counts have not been as high as they were four years ago, but apparently people are making up for it by going to the polls."
