As you watch many of your favorite ABC shows today you will notice that the network has designated today as a "Day of Giving." ABC is asking all viewers to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy by making a donation to the American Red Cross. We hope you will take a moment and donate a few dollars to help out fellow citizens in the Northeast as they struggle to recover from the water and wind damage they received.
Of course there are many other worthwhile groups that are making a difference in the storm stricken area. The Salvation Army and United Way are just two we know that will be helping out with the recovery effort. Also we have heard that some South Mississippi church groups are planning trips to the affected area and repay some of the generosity we experienced here after Hurricane Katrina.
So today if you can reach into your wallet or purse and give a few dollars during this "Day of Giving," you will help Sandy's victims. As we all know after Hurricane Katrina the Red Cross was here immediately feeding clothing and providing emergency funds so we could begin our recovery. Let's do our part so these latest hurricane victims can begin their recovery.
