Biloxi man dead after head-on collision with garbage truck

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Biloxi man is dead after a head on collision with a garbage truck. The accident happened around 4:30 Saturday morning on Popp's Ferry Road near Campbell street in Biloxi.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove says 21-year-old Nicholas Kostmayer was headed east when his Toyota Scion veered into the westbound lane and hit a garbage truck head on.

Hargrove say Kostmayer was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the garbage truck was injured.

Officials say the cause of the accident is under investigation.

    The south end of Keller Avenue in Biloxi is temporarily closed. A sinkhole formed near Highway 90, forcing the city to close Keller from the highway up to Howard Avenue.     Natalya Dlugolecki got booked into the Harrison County jail on March 25. The jail docket says she was linked to a receiving stolen property case. On June 19, she went to court. A day later, the docket says she got released from the Harrison County jail. Gulfport police say Dlugolecki hasn't been seen since. Police now call Dlugolecki a missing person. They've asked for assistance trying to find the 28-year-old woman.
