State auditor's investigators at Biloxi DMR office

It's WLOX News Director Brad Kessie. It was quite a scene this afternoon on I-10 in Jackson County. A pretty extensive sink hole caused all sorts of traffic headaches near the Pascagoula exit. The rather large crater was on the westbound side of the interstate near mile marker 70. The hole shut down one lane for much of the afternoon.

Investigators spent much of the afternoon at the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources offices in Biloxi. We've been able to confirm the state auditor's office is involved in that investigation. But, we don't know what investigators are looking for. The only statement from the auditor's office is no arrests have been made. We're following this story on WLOX News at

Patrice Clark was at George County High School today when Austin Stokes returned to class.  The 14-year-old was last in school a week ago. That day, he got hit in the face. And the picture showing his bloody wounds ended up on Facebook.

Feed My Sheep won a Facebook contest over the summer. Today, the Gulfport soup kitchen received its prize. Toyota donated a 2013 Sienna to Feed My Sheep.  Volunteers will use that vehicle to deliver food to less fortunate members of the community. The Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA also received a Toyota for winning a separate Facebook contest.

Flint Creek Water Park turned 50 years old this month. Today, dignitaries from across south Mississippi gathered in Stone County to celebrate Flint Creek's birthday. Flint Creek is run by the Pat Harrison Waterway District.
