MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - A Moss Point woman was arrested Tuesday night after officials said "she had just cooked a fresh batch of crack in a microwave."

Sheriff Mike Byrd said Janice "ET" Tate, 47, was arrested at her home in the 4000 block of Taylor Street in Moss Point.

In addition to the crack found at the scene, the sheriff said drug agents also seized baking soda, a digital scale, measuring cups, an ice chest and a pill bottle.

Tate's bond was set at $1,000. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Sheriff Byrd said the arrest came thanks to tips from the community. Anyone with information on suspicious activity is asked to call the Jackson County Narcotics Task Force at (228) 769-3302.
