Biloxi police charge two suspects with human trafficking

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

On Saturday, Biloxi police arrested Eric Allen Underwood, 24, and Dominque Yvonne Watkins, 27, on charges of human trafficking.

According to Sgt. Aldon Helmert, the charges stem from an undercover investigation on escort service websites.

Helmert said a Biloxi victim was forced to provide services and labor.

Both suspects are being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention under a $200,000 bond each.

    A suspect wanted for the murder of a 72-year-old man in Independence, MO was arrested Monday in Gulfport, according to Independence Police Department spokesman John Syme.

    A news release from Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson says a deputy shot and killed an armed suspect on Lake Vista Drive. According to the sheriff, deputies went to the neighborhood off Canal Road at 5:58 Monday night. They reportedly went there for a follow-up call involving a stolen car case from earlier that day.  "A deputy discharged his weapon and the suspect was transported from the scene to a local area hospital" where he later died, the sheriff said.
