MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Moss Point board of aldermen announced Thursday it has ended its relationship with the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County, according to Moss Point Chief Keith Davis.
Monday the board met with the chief during executive session and said they wanted to wait until Gautier and Pascagoula made a decision, but they changed their minds and decided to move forward with the vote.
Pascagoula city council members voted Monday to also end their relationship with the Narcotics Task Force. Both cities are considering joining forces to battle the drug problem as one, however they have not made a final decision yet.
Gautier has not made a decision on whether it will or will not terminate its contract with the task force. Ocean Springs and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department are still a part of the task force.
This move comes after the MS Bureau of Investigation looked into the July shooting involving two agents at the Narcotics Task Force office.
