BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) -

Seventy five roll off boxes, which are 30 cubic yards, are full of hydrocarbon contaminated vegetative debris have been collected from the giant sinkhole in Assumption Parish.

Texas Brine officials are skimming the sinkhole for this debris.

A casing is also being driven for a vent well located near the Texas Brine facility. They are unsure of when it will be completed and when the venting will start.

On Tuesday, Texas Brine reported that the process of re-brining the cavern to remove hydrocarbons has begun.

The next resident briefing will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the St. Joseph the Worker Church Hall in Pierre Part.
