No injuries in Ocean Springs hotel fire

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Firefighters in Jackson County are still trying to extinguish a fire at the Howard Johnson's Hotel on Highway 609.

The fire started on the third floor around noon, and quickly spread. All guests and employees were able to get out safely.

Officials believe the fire started in a storage room, and not a guest room. Employees reported hearing a loud boom, then the sprinkler system went off and the evacuation began.
