Pass Christian to put its police force on display

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - Pass Christian has never hosted a Night Out Against Crime.  That changes this Saturday, when police invite the public to city hall for a community celebration.

Chief John Dubuisson tells WLOX.com he's looking for town participation at the Saturday party.  "Our officers get to meet the citizens," the chief said, "we get to talk to the citizens."

Police will have games such as hula hoop contest, potato sack races, one legged races and a jump rope competition. They'll also have a bounce house and face painting.

The Pass Christian fire department will have its equipment on display and will have a demonstration on how the jaws of life unit works. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will also be in attendance to show off some of its equipment.

Pass Christian's Night Out Against Crime will be held at the city hall court yard on Hiern Avenue. Officers say they expect the event will help the police department be proactive against crime as well as provide valuable information to the community about services and opportunities available here in Pass Christian.

Be sure to watch Wednesday's Good Morning Mississippi.  Two Pass Christian officers will be on the morning news to share additional details about the city's first police party.
The Pass Christian Night Out Against Crime starts Saturday at 5:00 pm.
