PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - More jail talk and decisions are expected at the Jackson County Board of Supervisors meeting this morning. On today's agenda is a resolution for a jail contract with new architect firm, Goldberg Group Architects.
WLOX News has learned this contract will include the firm designing a new multi-million dollar adult detention center to replace the current aging and sometimes overcrowded facility in Pascagoula. The firm will also be responsible for overseeing the project if the contract is approved today.
Board of supervisors President John McKay says financing will also be a major topic . The board is expected to discuss and vote on a resolution, which will allow the county borrow up to $30 million for the construction and design of the new jail.
That meeting begins at 9:00. Patrice Clark is covering the jail talk. When a decision is reached, she'll post it on WLOX.com
