HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A woman was flown to USA Trauma Center in Mobile, AL following a one vehicle accident that shutdown parts of I-10 in Hancock County for about 20 minutes Sunday afternoon.

Traffic was at a standstill as West Hancock County Fire and Rescue and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol worked to clear the scene.

According to Ben Seibert with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 76-year-old Louelle Keene of Mobile, AL was traveling on the westbound lane of I-10 near the Louisiana-Mississippi state line.

Seibert said the tread on one of the tires on her 2004 GMC Envoy came off, causing her to enter the median, overcorrect a turn and collide into a tree.

Keene was wearing a seatbelt, but the airbags didn't deploy, Seibert said.
