Coast woman pens leadership book

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulf Coast businesswoman is doing her part to help lead others to a successful future.

Stephanie Barnes Taylor held a book signing for her new book "Leading Your Life to Excellence: A Leadership Book for Ordinary People Who Want to Do Extraordinary Things."

Taylor who is now the chief compliance officer for Singing River Health System in Jackson County says she wanted to do something that would cultivate a new generation of leaders in the state.

"South Mississippi is an awesome place. Of course, I'm biased because I live here and because I'm a native Mississippian, but we have awesome leaders here. Some people don't even realize it," Taylor said. "They think they need to be in a corporate suite, or they need to be a manager. Or they need to be in some sort of position, but you can lead from wherever you are."

Saturday's signing was held at Negrotto's gallery in Biloxi. The book is available online and in your area Book Store.

As Ja-Naya Thompson's short life was celebrated, there were a lot of tears and hugs as hundreds of people paid their respects during the visitation and the funeral service.
