The clock is ticking for your Humane Society donations to be matched. Wednesday is the last day an anonymous donor will match donations given for the new state of the art animal shelter.
The new shelter's cost is estimated at $4 million, and the project promises to solve the pet overpopulation problem. There will be an "Animal Campus" on the 9-acre site off Highway 49, which includes four critical components for solving pet overpopulation.
There will be a spay and neuter facility, a clinic, an animal walking park, and obedience programs and animal education programs for children.
As of mid-may, the Humane Society had raised about $700,000 toward the new shelter. That figure doesn't include "match money" from the anonymous donor.
