Company Proposes Second Hancock County Strip Club

There are plans for a second strip club in Hancock County, but supervisors don't want to see any more.

A company called Hancock Entertainment LLC wants to open what it calls a gentlemen's club, sports bar and restaurant. The club would be on Highway 603 near the Shoreline Park community, bordering Lagan and Central Avneues.

Last week, another company asked for a permit to open a similar club on Highway 90 just outside Waveland near the Bayside Park subdivision.

The strip club plans have drawn criticism from many people. Wednesday, Hancock County Supervisors passed a moritorium on applications for future adult businesses.

Next Thursday, there is a public hearing about the Highway 90 strip club proposal. The hearing begins at 4:15 at the Hancock County Civic Center on Longfellow Drive.
