DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) -

Bikers from across South Mississippi attended Diamondhead United Methodist Church for Biker Sunday.

The day served as a way for fellowship and worship and the blessing of the bikes.

Church members along with the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) prayed with motorcyclists for their safety and the mechanical operation of their motorcycles.

The CMA also provided counsel for anyone with a spiritual need.

Diamondhead United Methodist Church Pastor Oscar McGough said the idea for Biker Sunday came after talking with a CMA member about the different biker clubs. That's when McGough decided to offer a special invitation to them to come join their church family.

"Jesus Christ came for all of us and the doors of all of our churches are open for anyone to come and be a part of and grow in their relationship with Christ and be a part of a family," McGough said.

While the rain put a damper on the afternoon biker games, many still came out and enjoyed lunch and worship.
