GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

The Gulfport man who was severely injured in a hit and run accident on Wednesday has died. Forrest James Shores, 36, was being treated at the University of South Alabama Medical Center when he passed away.

Authorities say Shores had been riding his motorcycle on Highway 90 when a truck pulled in front of him and he crashed. The driver of that truck fled the scene.

Friday, before the victim's death, authorities arrested David Feliciano, 38, of St. Martin. He's charged with a felony for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury or death.

Feliciano was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Authorities said it's unclear right now if he'll face any further charges because of the victim's death.
