GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Jean Paul is like many adults around the coast.
"I work between 45 and 50 hours a week," said Paul.
Paul's best friend is his dog, Winston. So when Paul is at work, what happens to Winston?
"It's difficult sometimes. It's hard to leave him at home sometimes. He usually chews stuff up. Most of the time he's good, but sometimes he can get a little bit mischievous," said Paul.
Then Paul discovered a dog daycare in Gulfport called, "The Dawg House."
"There's nothing like this in this area. So we thought it would be a great idea to have a doggie daycare where people could drop off their dogs, enjoy their day, go to work and not have to worry about their dogs," said the Dawg House co-owner Jonna Marsland.
Marsland and her brother, Austin Chandler, started this not so typical daycare a few weeks ago. They're now caring for more than 30 dogs. They say there are kennels around the coast where dogs can be boarded, but The Dawg House offers more.
"We've just always had a love for dogs and I also have a childcare center and that's kind of where the idea came from," said Chandler.
The dogs seem to enjoy it.
"It's a place where it's really not a bad thing to be in the dog house," said Marsland.
"My dog loves running around and playing. He sees the other dogs. It's like seeing his friends on the playground," said Paul.
Paul says Winston will be keep coming to The Dawg House because, he says, a happy dog means a happy owner.
