The morning after a disputed call by officials gave the Seattle Seahawks a shocking victory over the Green Bay Packers, Saints quarterback Drew Brees let his feelings be known through his twitter account, "Ironic that our league punishes those based on conduct detrimental. Whose CONDUCT is DETRIMENTAL now?"
Yesterday the quarterback called the NFL replacements an embarrassment to the league. In an interview with ESPN Radio, Brees said, "There's definitely a lack of confidence in what's going to get called and what's not going to get called. You know, they're just not prepared to be in this situation. The game is so fast, and the level that all of them were at and now are at, it just doesn't even compare. You know, I think it's getting to a point where it's pretty horrendous and it's an embarrassment to the league and the way it's being conducted."
The interview with ESPN Radio came hours before the controversial ending of "Monday Night Football." After the game Brees tweeted, "I love this league and love the game of football, but tonight's debacle hurts me greatly. This is NOT the league we're supposed to represent."
The NFL released a statement today that confirms the "decision not to overturn on-field ruling." "The result of the game is final."
