A Tylertown man is charged with animal cruelty in connection to that suspected puppy mill in Walthall County. Sheriff's officials say James Thornhill, 72, turned himself in Tuesday and was released on his own recognizance. Meanwhile, 102 of the animals rescued Monday are now getting a lot of TLC at the Humane Society of South Mississippi.More >>
A driver crashed her car into a Hattiesburg restaurant Monday morning.
No one was injured when Deborah Everett hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as she was pulling into a Shell Station at 9:15 a.m. She jumped the curb and smashed into the storefront of Tango's World Championship Barbeque at 3955 Veteran's Memorial Drive.
The front glass was destroyed and portions of the frame damaged, but the vehicle did not enter the business.
The owner, Tango Downs, said he plans to stay open for business using a mobile barbeque unit while new glass is installed in his front window.
