End of Summer Fair unites community

D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

In D'Ibervillle on Saturday, the newly revitalized Central Avenue was put to good use. The freshly paved roadway was the location of the first ever "D'Iberville End of Summer Fair."

Hosted by The Gateway Group, the event celebrated the beginning of a new season by bringing the community together.

Organizers say with D'Iberville already being a close-knit community, this was an ideal way to start the fall.

Tracy Morgan with the Gateway Group said, "We had great prizes, great sponsors that came out and supported us. Businesses down here on Central Avenue and through D'Iberville came out and supported a great community event."

"We're looking at a lot of different options because when we have events like this that bring the community together and keeps kids of the street and out of trouble, it's not a bad thing," Desriee Marquez with the Gateway Group said.

Though the event was a hit, at this time there are no plans to make it an annual one.
