OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

It's not your typical auction. The City of Ocean Springs is auctioning surplus property Saturday at 9am at the Ocean Springs Civic Center. Some of the items are city property no longer needed, others were confiscated during criminal investigations.

"A lot of trucks a dump truck, a couple other vehicles, a lot of office furniture," said Ocean Springs city building official Rob Blackman.

Blackman said the city has taken items it no longer needs and converting it to cash. From courthouse pews, to bull dozers, they've got it all.

"It's a public auction. The public is invited. There's no special requirements. There's no buyer's premium. So whatever the price is, you pay," said auctioneer Nick Clark.

Clark said as people come to preview the items, he can tell that it's going to be successful. One of the most eye catching items is a big, red pumper truck. Clark guessed it would probably sell in the $5,000 dollar range. Bay St. Louis resident Jonathan Davis has his eye on it.

"If the price is right I'm going try," Davis said. "We'll just see, make a Mardi Gras float out of it."

Davis comes to most of Clark's auctions and he says his motive is simple.

"Buy it and resell it," said Davis.
