WOOD COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Emergency crews responded to a rural area where at least one person has been run over by a tractor.

The call came in to Mineola dispatchers at 2:53 Friday afternoon.

Authorities say the two men were working on the tractor, underneath it, when somehow, the tractor started up and began to "drive itself," running both men over in the chest and abdomen areas.

One of the men told our reporter on the scene that he was run over four times.

Two medical helicopters were dispatched to the location off of Highway 69, north of Mineola, in the Alba area, to transport two men to a Tyler hospital.

Officials say the men both sustained very serious injuries, but right now, both men are expected to survive.
