MS Gaming Commission approves sale of Silver Slipper

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved the $70 million sale of Silver Slipper to Full House Resorts Thursday.

Attorneys for Full House Resorts will begin the legal process of closing the sale. That's expected to be completed on September 30.

Full House Resort board said expanding with a hotel is a top priority, current owners have a plan for a hotel and as soon as the sale is complete they will look over that plan and within three to six months will have a decision on a hotel.

Once Full House Resorts takes over Silver Slipper, current general manager John Ferrucci says customers will notice an immediate change.

"Certainly a hotel is in the very near future," Ferrucci told WLOX News this morning. The GM believes Full House Resorts will break ground on that hotel in the first quarter of 2013.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission meeting was held at the Beau Rivage. Once a year, gaming commissioners bring their monthly meeting to South Mississippi.
