When you mention Picayune High School football these days, head coach Dodd Lee stands at the top of the list.
He guided the Maroon Tide to the 5A State Championship last season and has the talent to repeat again in 2012.
When Lee's offensive team hits the football turf on Friday, he'll be facing a Blue Devils defense that is under the watchful eye of Seth Smith. Smith happens to be Dodd Lee's son-in-law.
Smith said, "He'll come by once or twice a week and visit the grand babies. I see him every Saturday morning. He brings donuts. You know we've got a great relationship. I was blessed to start coaching with him. I worked for him for five years and now I'm blessed to come here and work with coach Collins. Those two guys are great coaches and great men.
Lee said, "We don't talk a lot that week but it's fine. I love Seth and he's a great son-in-law and I couldn't ask for a better person."
What about those donuts on Saturday?
Lee stated, "I'll bring them Saturday... Win or lose."
